Requirements:

  • All Security Officers need to obtain a license from the Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD).
  • Individuals have to go for Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Basic Security Course, and be certified before the license can be approved.
  • These are three modules to pass under WSQ
    1. Provide Guard and Patrol Services
    2. Provide Incident Management Services or Handle Security Incidents and Services
    3. Recognise Terrorist Threats
  • Both modules have to be passed under the Licensing Conditions otherwise one would be considered as untrained.
  • After getting the security officer license, experience and additional training modules have to be completed in order to progress and obtain higher ranks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Incident Response
  • Manage Security @ Safety Systems
  • Regulate Traffic (Road Traffic Act)
  • Monitor CCTV/ Central Alarm/ Fire Command Centre
  • Assist State/ Auxilliary Police in Law Enforcement
  • Key Press Management

Requirements:

  • To be able to be promoted to become a senior security officer, at least 6 months of experience is needed as a security officer. There are two other cetificate modules to be cleared.
  • The two compulsory modules are:
    1. Manage Disorderly Conduct and Threatening Behavior
    2. Operate Basic Security Equipment
  • With sufficient experience and certifications, a security officer can easily be promoted to a senior security officer.

  • Executive Evacuation Plans & Exercises

Requirements:

  • After a year of experiene as a senior security officer, inddividuals can further promote to a security supervisor. At least a year of senior security officer experience is needed. There are three other criteria.
  • An advanced licensing unit and two advanced modules are needed to be completed before promotion.
  • The modules required are:
    1.  Supervise Security Officers (Mandatory Licensing unit)
    2.  Induct Securtiy Personnel
    3.  Access andAddress Security Risks
    4.  Perform Supervisory Duties with Legal Framework
  • With the above training, officers can be more adept as a security supervisor.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • In-Charge of CCTV-Centre/ Central Alarm Monitoring Centre/ Fire Command Centre
    • Conduct Security & Risk Assessent
    • Higher Supervision

    Additional Skills:

    • Physically and Medically Fit

    Requirements:

    • With more than one year and six months of experience as a security supervisor, the officer can go for more training to be promoted to senior security supervisor. The requirement is four advanced modules (full advanced certificate).
    • Certification of modules needed are:
      1. Monitor and Review Security Operation (Mandatory)
      2. Conduct Operation Briefing and Debriefing
      3. Lead and Manage a Team of Security Officer
      4. Performing Monitoring and Reporting Duties at Central Command Centre
      5. Deploy Security Equipment
      6. Contribute to the Management of Security Incidents
      7. Supervise Crowd and Traffic Control Activities
    • The modules stated above are very important for a skilled senior security supervisor to be able to take on the roles and respnsibilities given with the rank.

    Requirements:

    • Two years of senior security supervisor experience is required before advancing to chief security officer. Along with experience, three diploma modules must be completed in order for an officer to be able to call himself a chief security officer.
    • The diploma modules are as follows:
      1. Manage Security Operations
      2. Achieve Work Effectiveness in Security Environment
      3. Manage and Resolve Conflict in Security Environment
    • With the above requirements, the rank of a chief security officer can be achieved.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Take command control of Security manpower deployed in many location across the island, day and night shift.
    • Motivate and rain the security office and troubleshoot problems.
    • Plan and roster for their off days any urgent leave.
    • Resolve disciplinary and security operational issues.
    • Able to drive in Singapore.
    • Possess IT and Security Systems Skills such as email on smart phones, Excel rosters, CCTV handling/operations etc.
    • Attend client meetings.
    • Conduct recruitment of security officers.

    Requirements:

    • Diploma in Security Management or relevant courses.
    • Ex SAF, SPF, SCDF Senior NCO are welcome to apply.
    • Possess Singapore Class 3 Driving License.
    • At least 3 years of working experience in Security Management related industry.
    • Willing to attend security related courses and subject to bond.
    • Have no criminal conviction.
    • Able to start on short notice.
    • For candidates with management experience and little or no experience but is keen on this industry, you may join as a Security Executive.

    How will my pay be like?

    Security Masters comply with the Progressive Wage Model Employment practice and MOM Practices. This practice was actually developed by the tripartite committees, to help uplift the security officers and guide them along their career pathways and wage increase. Security Masters follow the Tripartite’s guideline and recommendation to ensure our employment practice are fair and progressive for all ages.

    Will I have a work life balance?

    Of course! There are a few rules in place to ensure that you will be able to have a work-life balance. For example, you have a limit of 72 hours of overtime every month and up to 12 hours of work per day. Coupled with the new measures, there are now additional rest days for our employees.

    We also have some incentives for our employees. Our employee are able to get bursary for their children, and attend security and safety related courses catered for efficiency to spend more time with love ones, in exchange for their hard work and dedication.

    How do you track the hour we work?

    We are using the IREP system for attendence taking and such. Using the IREP System mean that we can ensure strict compliance with the security indutry regulation in regards to the number of work hours and overtime worked. By using this accurate system to track the working hours, we will give you the correct wage everytime.
